Prologue
It is getting hard to wear long-sleeved clothes. I
cannot help perspiring because of the heavy camera
bag I am carrying. Nature continent of Africa! Whenever
I hear the name, I feelt fear and a mysterious feeling
that I cannot identify. Is it that the continent still
has the mystery of immemorial antiquity? Or is it
because I am taking pity on those African souls the
gospel of salvation has not yet reached? While I am
being absorbed in meditation, the plane takes off
to the blue sky. Boring flight... the fluttering that
I felt when I first stepped in the plane is gone and
I now feel only bored of a long flight.
The Continent of Africa
Yawning and bored, I look out the window. I see the
vast continent of Africa. I see lots of animals running
through the open woods of the Savanna. The beautiful
sunset was reflecting on the ground and giraffes were
walking in it. The lion families were yawning and
preparing for a long rest while yawning. The sound
of a drum is heard from afar. The image of dying souls
struggling and their cries of pain come to me. Only
after long hours in flight, I arrive in Zambia on
the continent of Africa. It is much cooler in Zambia
than in neighboring countries in Africa, probably
because the country is on a 1,200-meter plateau of
over 1,200 meters.
Zambia - Where The Sea Is Far Away
The street, I see after escaping from the crowded
airport looks like that of Korea in the 1960s, except
that in Zambia the store signs are written in English.
Sand and wind are blowing along the street peddling,
and barefoot children wander about. Those who are
not street peddlers put vegetables and fruit on the
roadside and begin their business for the day. Since
half of the population is engaged in agriculture,
most of the things in the market are agricultural
products. The wedding ceremony is sacred here. A black
bride wearing a white wedding gown catches my eye.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen dressed up with the
same clothes are smiling at one another. It is an
endless horizontal line where the sky and the land
meet. This is Zambia.
God's Love Transcends the Human Race
As always, Dr. Cho passionately preached the Gospel.
The passion from his heart erupted like a volcano.
The Convention Center, originally expected to be cold,
was filled with people who experienced the presence
of God and were moved to tears. Both the well dressed
and those not so well dressed prayed together. The
pain in their shoulders could not keep their hands
down nor could sore throats stop their praises and
prayers of appreciation to God. That was how they
achieved victory.
