Introduction : Before we take a trip for a few days or weeks, there are necessary articles that we must check out. I have traveled so often that I know well what I should take with me on a trip. For example, underwear, warm underwear even in summer, toiletries, first-aid medicine, and many other things. Likewise, there are things that we must check out every day in prayer.
1. Lead us not into temptation 1) Trivial temptations - a marital dispute, a quarrel with our neighbor, a hurt from a fall, a slight car accident, pilfered¡¦ 2) Serious temptations - an unexpected natural disaster, a fire, a flood, an earthquake, a big car accident, a plane crash, the loss of property ... 3) Be alert and pray (Ps 91) (1) He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler´s snare and from the deadly pestilence. (2) He will cover you with his feathers. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. -A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. (3) Confess that God is your refuge, an Almighty One, and your dwelling. - He will command His angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways.
2. But deliver us from the evil one - The evil one symbolizes the wicked devil (Jn 10:10, Rev 12:10) * The evil that Job faced (Job 1:9-11) 1) The loss of possessions (1) Thieves came and took away his cows, camels, and donkeys (Job 1:14-15, 17) (2) A fire fell from the sky and burned up his sheep (Job 1:16) (3) Suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of his oldest son´s house, where the rest of his children (ten in all) were feasting and drinking wine. It collapsed on them and they died. (Job 1:19) (4) He had painful sores (Job 2:5-8) (5) He was betrayed by his wife and accused by three friends (Job 2:9-10, 19:2-3) 2) The authority that Jesus has given (Lk 10:19) (1) Identity as a child of God (Jn 1:12) (2) Resist the devil (Mk 16:17, Eph 6:11-12, 1Pe 5:8-9, Jas 4:7, Ps 91:13)
3. Make us fear the discipline of God (Heb 12:5-6) 1) A warning before being disciplined (1) A voice from conscience ( 1Pe 3:16, 1Ti 1:19) (2) The rebuking of the Holy Spirit (Dt 8:5-6, Ps 16:7, Jn 16:8) 2) Being disciplined (1) Ourselves (Nu 16:35, 1Sa 15:23) (2) Our family (Nu 16:32, 2 Ch 21:14-15) (3) Our property (Pr 23:5) (4) Our business (Dt 28:20) - Repent immediately and turn back to the Lord when you are disciplined ( Pr 1:23,33, Heb 12:11, Isa 38:17,Job 5:17-21)
Conclusion : We should always check out ourselves so that we will not be tempted, attacked by the devil, and disciplined.
