Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
See, a King Will Reign in Righteousness
Isaiah 32:1 ~ 32:2

2013-05-26

Adam, the first ancestor of humankind was cursed as he rebelled against God. Since then, his descendants are living in the shadow of Adam's curse. However, as Jesus Christ, the second ancestor of humankind was absolute loyal to God and obeyed Him, anyone who believes in Jesus is saved. Anyone who reads or listens to the prophecy in Isaiah 32:1-2 feels amazed and deeply moved.

1. A shelter from the wind
1) The wind that blows in nature is so strong that it makes a thick forest uprooted and destroys houses. Wherever it blows, it looks like a war broke out.
2) Human beings are faced with the wind of sins and live in despair for the lifetime.
3) Look up to Jesus who was hung on the cross carrying up the wind instead of humans.
¨ç God turned His face away from Jesus.
¨è His disciples were scattered in all directions.
¨é He was beaten so severely that His face was disfigured and swollen up.
¨ê He was stripped off and nailed down on the tree.
¨ë The voices of condemnation coming from His enemies and crowd were the shouts of evil.
- These are the wind of sins in life.
4) Jesus screens us from the wind of life and becomes a shelter for us.

2. A refuge from the storm
1) Cities are submerged under water, industrial facilities are swept away in water, farmlands are buries under water, and people are devastated by floods, as storms hit many places on earth.
2) The storm of disasters in the bible
¨ç The flood of Noah ¨è The test of Job ¨é The sulfuric heavy rain in Sodom and Gomorrah
3) Jesus who protects us from the harsh storm of sufferings in life.
- The storm represents the judgment of God. The cross of Jesus is a refuge from the strom.

3. Streams of water in the desert
1) No forms of life can exist in waterless and dry land.
- No matter how fertile land is, it becomes desert if there's no water.
2) History tells us that human civilizations were established along the river.
3) When our hearts are devastated and in despair, Jesus blesses us like streams of water.
- The atoning grace of the Lord is like the river of life.

4. The shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land
1) Think of a wanderer lost in a wilderness where harsh wind of desert blows and the sun is beating down.
- If he keeps on wandering, he would die with thirst. Therefore, the shadow of a great rock which screens us from wind and sunshine in the desert is grace of life.
2) People become weary and exhausted with a lonely and isolated heart while living in multitude of people.
- When we are worn out and tired losing the desire to live, Jesus becomes the shadow of a great rock for us and restores our lives.

The wind blows. It is the wind of sins. The devil tried to destroy Job's life with evil wind. The judgment of God pours down like storm. There are floods in all over the places. When the streams of water flow in the desert, however, the land turns into a fertile one. While one is so exhausted, is stumbling, and about to fall, the shadow of a rock that keeps the one from sunshine and wind in the desert is a shelter of life. What a great blessing it is to have Jesus as our Savior who delivers us from these hardships.

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.
