Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
Children¡¯s Day
Luke 18:15 ~ 18:17

2009-05-03

15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.
16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

The best way to predict the future of a family, society or nation is by observing their children, because children are the owners of tomorrow. Therefore, our family, society, and nation should make every effort to raise and educate children properly. The same is true for the church.

1. Help your children meet Jesus.

1) Help your children welcome Jesus and God the Father before Satan comes and pours worldly rubbish in their minds (Pr 22:6).
¨ç A good example of faith from parents (1Ti 4:12-13).
¨è Especially a mother's faith (2Ti 1:5; Pr 31:1).
2) The importance of Sunday school education.
¨ç Clear understanding of God the creator—In general education, children are often susceptible to atheism and materialism (Ge 1:1, 27; 2Ti 3:15-17).
¨è Teach the Ten Commandments—the basic ethics of life (Dt 6:7).
¨é Clear understanding of redemption and the Cross of Jesus (Jn 3:16).
¨ê Understanding of life after death (Heb 9:27).

2. Children who are loved.

1) Treat them with respect—physical contact, conversation, and persuasion (Eph 6:4; Mt 18:10; Mk 10:13-16).
2) Do not withhold praise and encouragement (Pr 27:21).
3) Do not neglect to discipline them (Pr 23:13-14; 29:15).

3. Education creates a better tomorrow.

1) Do not sacrifice children for the parents' desires (Ps 127:3; Eph 2:10).
2) Let children have a balance regarding play and study (Ecc 12:12; Pr 9:10).
3) Keep children healthy (Pr 4:20-22; 1Th 5:23).
4) Motivate a child to become a great person.
¨ç Biography.
¨è Visiting experiences.
¨é Help children discover and develop their God-given talents.
ž Edison and his mother.

Living conditions during our childhood were very poor, but education has created what we have today. Children are a jar of clay, and education is the potter. Children are gifts that God has entrusted to us.

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

    3 John  1:11
