18 But they saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted to kill him. 19 "Here comes that dreamer!" they said to each other. 20 "Come now, let´s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we´ll see what comes of his dreams."
Introduction : Having a dream is to envision something you do not have at the moment, but you make it a goal in your life and keep working toward it. A dream is like an egg being brooded over by a hen. If you ponder over it in your heart for a long time, your dream will be accomplished, just like when an egg hatches and a chick comes out.
1. Joseph, the dreamer - Joseph, the 11th son among 12 sons that Jacob raised, was a man of good faith and conduct, and he was also a dreamer. 1) The dream that Joseph dreamed twice (Ge 37:7, 9-11). 2) Let´s look at what happened in the dream. His brothers made sarcastic remarks. - The dream begins to be realized. His brothers were already under the control of the dream (Ge 37:19-20). 3) The dream comes true. Joseph´s dream has come true (Ge 41:39-40, 43).
2. Jesus who came with the dream to save humankind 1) Jesus came as a dreamer (Jn 3:16; 10:10). 2) The enemies of Jesus wanted to crush His dream. - They wanted to see what would happen to His dream when He died on the Cross (Mt 27:41-42). 3) Even the attacks from the enemies were under the control of the dream. Rather, the Cross became the tool that accomplished the dream of Jesus (Mk 10:45; Jn 11:50). 4) Jesus said, "It is finished." Jesus accomplished the dream of forgiveness, the dream of holiness, the dream of healing, the dream of blessing, the dream of resurrection, and the dream of eternal life in heaven. The dream for all humankind was accomplished in compliance with the hand of the enemies (Isa 53:10).
3. Believers with a dream 1) Behold, here comes the dreamer. The one who dreams of the Fivefold Gospel and the Threefold Blessing (Ps 103:3-5). 2) People who had a dream and vision to spread the Gospel all over the world (Mk 16:15; Mt 28:19-20). 3) I had a dream when I preached the Gospel under a worn-out US army tent in a sesame field on the outskirts of Seoul in 1958. I had a dream that made me excited and restless. (1) The Gospel of salvation for the poor, for the sick-for the whole man (3Jn 1:2). (2) The biggest church in Korea. (3) Spread the Gospel all over the world (Ac 1:8).
Conclusion : Human beings are created as houses where God lives. A house without God becomes unoccupied, where seven evil spirits come and great anxiety does not cease. However, we can have joy, peace, and happiness in our lives when we believe in Jesus and serve God.
