Introduction : The devil was the first one to tempt Jesus after Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River, filled with the Holy Spirit, and fasted in the desert for 40 days. When Jesus preached the gospel in Galilee, He drove out demons in public in the synagogue. (Luke 4:33-35). Jesus told His disciples that they should drive out demons when they preached the gospel of heaven. At the Last Supper, before He ascended to heaven after His resurrection, Jesus commanded believers to drive out demons.
1. The devil that attacks believers 1) Job´s trial, the devil´s accusation (Job 1:9-11) 2) Job´s disaster (1) He lost his possessions - 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 donkeys (2) He lost his children - seven sons, three daughters (3) Physical sickness (Job 2:7) - Through the book of Job, we can see examples of the deeds the devil does to man. (Job 2:3)
2. The evil deeds of the devil and demons 1) They prevent us from believing in God (Eph 2:1-3) (1) They make us follow the trends of the world - they seduce us to turn from God (2Co 4:4, 1Jn 2:16) (2) They make us become slaves to physical greed (Gal 5:19-21) (3) They make us do corrupt things we desire in our hearts 2) The devil accuses us very severely - he tries to steal, kill, and destroy us (Rev 12:10) 3) The devil sends demons to afflict us (1) Fortunetelling demons - it is reported that there are about 500,000 fortunetellers in our country (Ac 16:18) (2) Lying demons (Jn 8:44) (3) Filthy demons (Jas 5:1-2) (4) Evil demons (Lk 7:21) (5) Demons who make people crazy (Mk 5:15) (6) Demons who make people sick or handicapped (Lk 13:11) (7) Demons who haunt people (Ac 8:7)
3. Our power and weapons to drive out the devil 1) Jesus disarmed the devil on the Cross (Col 2:14-15) (1) He made the condemnation of the law powerless (2) He made the rule and power of the devil powerless and made him a spectacle - During the time of the Roman Empire, the captured king of a conquered enemy country and his men were made a spectacle in a triumphal parade (Heb 2:14) 2) God´s children with authority (Lk 10:17-19) 3) Our weapons (1) The name of Jesus (Mk 16:17) (2) The precious blood (Rev 12:11) (3) The Word of God (Eph 6:17, Jas 4:7)
Conclusion :We must know the truth and our status, strongly resist the devil and demons, and drive them out. Just as air pollution and environmental pollution harass our lives, the devil and demons are pollution and poison in our spiritual, mental, and physical lives. Therefore, we must drive them out to keep ourselves pure.
