Introduction : People feel happiness when they meet someone they like. They also feel happiness when they receive something they like or accomplish their objective. However, life is not always happy. People often meet someone they do not like and face unpleasant circumstances. They are sad, sigh, and become unhappy.
1. The happy God 1) The Bible says, "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good" (Ge 1:31). 2) God is delighted - God saw the light, land, plants, seas, sun, moon, stars, birds, fishes, insects, animals, Adam and Eve, and everything was very good 3) The happy God, a laughing God - humankind laughs because we are made in the likeness of God (Ps 104:31)
2. The incident, which made God sad 1) The corruption of Adam and the rule of the devil and death (Ge 3:17-19) 2) The world is occupied by death and corruption - the very good turned into the very bad (Ro 5:12, 1Jn 5:19) 3) The sad God - God felt sad by seeing the world spread with death and corruption, and God is unhappy (Ge 6:5-6)
3. The things God regards as good 1) The incarnation and the work of the redemption of Jesus (Mt 3:17) 2) The suffering of Jesus´ atonement greatly pleased God (Php 2:5-11) 3) The extremely happy God - the life and atonement of Jesus extremely pleased God and it made God happy (Jn 6:38, 8:29) 4) God is pleased with people who believe and adore Jesus - We cannot please God without Jesus (Eph 1:5, Jn 12:26)
4. Our everlasting happiness 1) The happiness of the world is only temporary - Earthly things will fade away. Pleasure and happiness is very short. A confession of Solomon (Ecc 1:2) 2) A relationship with Jesus (1) How good is the love of Jesus, how good is the love of God (Jn 15:9, 1Jn 3:1) (2) A spring of everlasting joy (Ps 16:11, Isa 12:2-3) (3) Abundant happiness (Ps 84:5, 1-3:2-5, Dt 10:12-13, 33:29)
Conclusion : If we like Jesus and father God with our whole heart, our life of faith will be pleasing with an overflowing river of happiness. The Holy Spirit is helping us understand Jesus, love our father God, and greatly like our God. That is why Christians with the fullness of the Holy Spirit are filled with great joy and happiness.
