Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
The Price of His Death
John 3:16 ~ 3:17

2005-11-06

Introduction : A miserable accident happened on a railroad in Bumil-dong in Busan during the Korean War (6. 25). The love of a father who chose death to save his son.

1. The scorn of the enemies
    - He has saved others, but he cannot save himself
    1) Only the death of a sacrifice can save people who are facing death
        (1) The death and crime of Adam
        (2) Dead humankind in Adam doomed to hell    (Ro 5:12, Heb 9:27)
        (3) One person without sin must die in order to save a dead person
            (Lev 17:11, Mt 26:28, Isa 53:6)
    2) With a burning love He overcame all the unbearable jeering, criticism, and
accusation, as well as the extreme physical, mental, and spiritual pain    (Heb 12:2)
    3) I will die to save you the death and resurrection of a man of God    (Gal 1:4, Ro 4:25)

2. The price of His death
    - We must live because the Lord died for us
    1) We must live a life of forgiveness, righteousness, and glory    (Ro 3:23-24)
    2) We must live a life of holiness and fullness in the Holy Spirit    (Tit 3:6-7, 1Co 6:11)
    3) We must live a life of healing and good health    (Isa 53:5, Ps 103:3-5)
    4) We must live a life with the blessing of Abraham    (Gal 3:13-14)
    5) We must live a life of resurrection and eternal heaven    (Jn 5:24, Rev 21:1, 4)

3. Do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery
    (Galatians 5:1)

    1) Understand the truth    (Jn 16:13)
    2) Build up a new status and identity and visualize it    (2Co 5:17, 1Pe 2:9)
    3) Trust the Word of God and stand firm    (Ro 10:17, Heb 4:7, Lk 1:37)
        - Resist the devil of negative attacks    (1Pe 5:8-9, Jas 4:7, Lk 10:19)
    4) Pray with your whole heart    (Ro 8:15, Jer 33:2-3)
    5) Clear confession    (Mt 12:34, 19:36, Pr 8:21, 6:2)

Conclusion : As I have mentioned earlier about the train accident, maybe the father´s death would have been a miserable and tragic death if both son and father died. The father´s death would also have been in vain if his son had said, "I will die because my father died for me." The son must live a prosperous life to respect his father´s will and make sure his father´s death would not be in vain. We must not let Jesus´ death be in vain. We must make the price of the Lord´s death more valuable by reigning in life with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.
