Introduction : Through our parents, we can experience the most goodness and love in our lives. Thoughts of parents toward their children are all good. No parents think of bad things for their children. All parents want their children to be prosperous and always love them with mercy. How much more will God the Father who is the Parent of parents have goodness and love toward us?
1. The goodness and love of God 1) The love of Jesus on the Cross (1) He was with sinful humanity and suffered on the Cross (Ro 6:23, 6; 1Pe 2:24; 1Jn 4:10; Jn 3:16) (2) God glorified humanity by making humanity one with the risen Lord (Eph 2:5-6; Php 3:21) 2) The help of the Holy Spirit (1) Like parents who raise their children (Jn 14:18; Tit 2:12; Ps 103:13) (2) Like a teacher who educates his/her disciples (Jn 14:26, 16:13)
2. God gives us hope even in adversity and hardship 1) The love of the good God makes us overcome adversity * Joseph´s dream, hardship, perseverance, and victory (The good God who worked behind him¡¦Ge 50:20) 2) God makes us believe in His providence that changes evil into good - We are happy with good things and glad that He will make bad things good (Ro 8:28) 3) When we face adversity and hardship, we should repent before God and believe that evil will turn into good (Pr 28:13; Joel 2:13; Ps 30:10-11)
3. The good God becomes our hope 1) The message of the Threefold Blessing when I planted the church in Daejo-dong - When I was in despair in all respects: in the environment, in a physical sense, from the judgment of my reason and in actual terms, the goodness and love of God became my hope. (God never condemns, punishes, or takes away life) (Jn 10:10, 3:17, 2Co 1:3-4) 2) From the three calamities to the Threefold Blessing (1) Adam´s fall and the three calamities - spiritual death, environmental curse, and physical death (Ge 3:17-19) (2) Jesus´ threefold blessing - spiritual life, freedom from the curse, healing and resurrection (3Jn 1:2; Ps 103:3-5) 3) God gives us a dream (the good God himself is our dream) - Do not fear, but only believe * The synagogue ruler Jairus and his little daughter who was dead (Mk 5:35-43; Ps 30:4-5; Jer 29:11; Ps 146:5)
Conclusion : "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" (Mt 7:11). I have believed in the good God and preached Him for my whole life. Even when I went through a lot of trouble and hardship, I trusted in the good God who worked behind me. I did not give up my dreams and hopes, and He has never failed me.
