Introduction : Nowadays, a year is equivalent to a hundred years in the past in terms of advancement in knowledge and science. Nevertheless, evil, calamities, war, disorder, and violence have increased in proportion to such progress. World governments cannot deal with the problems on this earth. The assertion of the illuminists of the eighteenth century that human beings would succeed in building a paradise on this earth through reasoning and science has become a fairy tale, only to be believed by naive children. Why are there such calamities?
1. Heaven´s door was shut 1) Heaven´s door was open at the Garden of Eden - there was no wall between God and humankind. 2) Adam´s rebellion and the closed door of Eden (Ge 3:23-24) 3) Great calamities (Ge 3:17-19) (1) Spiritual death (2) The curse on the earth (3) Death of the body 4) The life of being a servant to the devil and secular humanism (1) The devil wants to reinforce the separation from God (2) Secular humanism is the servant of materialism (2Co 4:4, Eph 2:3)
2. Jesus opened heaven´s door 1) The voice from heaven (Lk 3:21) (1) God´s beloved son (2) With you I am well pleased 2) The Holy Spirit in bodily form like a dove (1) A dove is the symbol of love (2) The Holy Spirit descended with the love of God (Jn 3:16, Ro 5:5) 3) The world of Jesus created with love (Ge 1:1-2) (1) Emptiness is filled with the love of God (2) Chaos is replaced with the order of the kingdom of heaven (3) Darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God tended it with love (darkness - devils, deep - despair), (Ge 1:31, Ps 104:24, Jn 1:1-3) - God brings light to darkness, order to chaos, beauty to ugliness, affluence to poverty, healing to sickness, and life to death.
3. A dove wet with blood (Ac 2:1-4) 1) Jesus was sacrificed on the Cross to open heaven´s door forever. (Php 2:6-8, Heb 10:20) 2) The dove descending on the Day of Pentecost was dripping with the blood of Jesus (Lk 22:20, 1Jn 5:6-8) 3) The Holy Spirit who carries out the redemption of blood (1) Liberation from sin and the gift of righteousness (Ro 8:1-2, Tit 3:6-7) (2) Liberation from the devil and world and the gift of holiness (Rev 1:5, Heb 9:14) (3) Liberation from sickness and the gift of health (Ac 10:38, 1Pe 2:24) (4) Liberation from the curse and the blessing of Abraham (Gal 3:13-14) (5) Liberation from death and the kingdom of heaven (Ro 8:11, Rev 21:10-11, Joel 2:28, ac 1:8)
Conclusion : Now, Jesus 1) opens heaven´s door for all people; 2) pours out God´s love; 3) invites the Holy Spirit to dwell in us; 4) lets us be a new creation; 5) gets rid of the devil´s power of emptiness, chaos, and darkness; and 6) fills the abyss of depravity with the glory of the kingdom of heaven.
