Introduction : A daughter of a respectable family wanted to marry a man who did not even have a job and whose future seemed uncertain. Her parents were so angry. The whole family was trying to stop her, but this was the only thing she said, "Are you going to live my life for me? I´m living my own life. No matter how I live, this is my life, and it has nothing to do with all of you." When I heard about this episode, a shocking question hit my heart. Who is really living my life?
1. I live my own life 1) This is how the devil tempted Adam (1) You don´t need to live as a servant of God (Ge 2:16-17) (2) Live an independent life as God. Become God (Ge 3:4-5) (3) Live your own life - Adam was deceived by the devil 2) This is how the devil put Jesus to the test "You are the Son of God. Aren´t you equal to God? Make your own decision and follow your own will." (1) Tell these stones to become bread and eat it (Mt 4:4) (2) Throw yourself down from the highest point of the temple (Mt 4:7) (3) Bow down and worship me (Mt 4:10) - Jesus confessed until the last, "My life belongs to God." (Jn 8:29, Mk 14:36) 3) If you live your own life (1) Become a servant of the devil - a servant of greed, secularity, and the appetite of the flesh (Eph 2:1-3, 1Jn 2:16, Jas 1:15) (2) Evil temptation, sin, slave of arrogance, heavy burden (Isa 64:6, Jas 4:14, Ro 7:24) (3) The target of God´s rage - eternal judgment of hell (Jn 8:24, Rev 21:8)
2. I live my life with God - The life of those who never concede their independence before God 1) The life of King Saul (human-centered belief) He did not fully dedicate himself to God even though he was chosen and anointed by God and became the king (1) Samuel was the one who should have made a sacrifice to God, but Saul gave a burnt offering to God, which wasn´t his duty (belief of opportunism) (1 Sa 13:13-14) 2) Human-centered belief that appeared again (1 Sa 15:19, 22-23) (1 Sa 15:2-3, 10-11)
3. God lives my life - God lives our lives when we empty our hearts and accept Him as our Master with complete obedience (Gal 2:20) (Mt 6:31-33, Ro 8:31-32) 1) The childhood of David (1) It would have been impossible for David to kill the lion and bear if God did not live David´s life (1 Sa 16:13) (2) As a teenager, David could not kill Goliath in his own strength (1 Sa 17:34-37, 45-47)
Conclusion : (Matthew 11:28-29). A tender and humble heart obeying the Master is a heart that believes and relies on the Master. The Lord will live your life if you accept Him as your Master in complete obedience. |
