Where Does My Help Come From?
Psalms 121:1 ~ 121:8

2020-03-15

Although the life of human beings is short, they experience countless sufferings during their lifetime. We must know that our ultimate help is in God when we face hardships. A psalmist confessed, "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Ps. 121:2) When it comes to situations that can't be solved with man's strength, we can be more than conquerors if God helps us.

1. Almighty God
1) We can expect God's help because He is almighty. If we pray to God and cry out, God works for us.
2) Because God created our soul, spirit and body, He knows all our problems and helps us to solve them. In addition, God keeps us as the apple of His eye. Therefore, we don't need to be afraid no matter what kind of situations we face.

2. God who is love
1) We can expect God's help because He loves us. The Bible says, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." (1 John 4:10) God loves us to the point where He gave His Son to the death of the cross. Thus, God willingly helps us.
2) Jesus said, "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!" (Matt. 7:9~11) We must firmly believe in our good God.

3. To gain God's help
1) We must pray to receive God's help. If we earnestly pray to God and seek, He will meet us and grant us miracles that we can't imagine.
2) In addition, to receive God's help, we must believe in Him to the end. We must have dreams in our hearts to not be discouraged and to pray with faith to the end.

Conclusion
We must remember that God who helps us is with us when we encounter hardships. Our Almighty God who created the heavens and the earth and who loved us to the point where He gave His Son to the cross helps us. Therefore, we must believe in God and stand up again from despair.
