Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
This Is the Resting Place and the Place of Repose
Isaiah 28:11 ~ 28:13

2018-08-05

While Apostle Paul teaches about speaking in tongues, he cites the messages in Isaiah (1 Cor. 14:21). People cannot understand languages of other regions other than the languages they use. Likewise, speaking in tongues, which is the gift of the Holy Spirit, cannot be understood by people as the language that allows communication with God. Praying by speaking in tongues greatly benefits our life of faith.

1. All you who are weary and burdened
1) All people live by carrying heavy burdens of life due to Adam's sin. (Rom. 5:12)
2) Jesus gives true rest to those who are weary and burdened. (Matt. 11:28)

2. The grace of Jesus' atonement
1) Jesus forgave our sins and gave us spiritual restoration. (Rom. 8:1~2)
2) Not only spiritual restoration, but Jesus healed our bodies and hearts. (1 Peter 2:24)

3. The winning life through prayer
1) We can receive God's help whenever through prayer. When we pray, we can pray in our daily language or by speaking in tongues. (1 Cor. 14:39)
2) We can enjoy many benefits in our life of faith by speaking in tongues. (1 Cor. 14:18)

4. The intercession of the Holy Spirit for us
1) The Holy Spirit is interceding for us, following the will of God. (Rom. 8:26~27)
2) We can stand against the devil and conquer wicked men by speaking in tongues. (James 4:7)

Conclusion
We are not alone when taking the path of life. Even though the Holy Spirit is invisible, He is with us. Therefore, when we face sufferings that we cannot handle, we need to seek for the help of the Holy Spirit with prayer. There are various benefits of praying by speaking in tongues. If we pray by speaking in tongues, we get to pray, following the will of God and are able to enjoy the joy of abundant answers.
