Do Not Be Anxious about Anything, But Present Your Requests to God
Philippians 4:6 ~ 4:7

2017-09-10

Due to Adam's sin, most people live their lives with anxiety and worry in a world filled with thorns and thistles. Anxiety and worry make circumstances that the devil can work. We should not be anxious about anything and go before the Lord and pray. Only Jesus can give true peace, joy, and hope in our hearts. Even though we are worthless and weak like jars of clay, we can live our lives by embracing joy and hope because we have Jesus who is treasure in us.

1. Do not let your hearts be troubled
1) Stresses such as anxiety, worry, nervousness, and discouragement can be harmful to our bodies and hearts. It is easy for us to think that anxiety is nothing. Jesus likened a heart filled with anxiety to thorns. He said the word of God cannot bear fruit because of anxiety. Just as seeds cannot bear fruit if they are fell on thorns, the word of God cannot bear fruit if our hearts are filled with anxiety. (Prov. 17:22)
2) We must go before Jesus and commit our anxiety and worry with prayer every day. (Prov. 16:9)

2. My yoke is easy and my burden is light
1) All people on this land live their lives by carrying laborious and heavy burdens. (Matt. 11:28~30)
2) If we commit our burdens of life to Jesus with prayer, we can gain true rest. (Ps. 55:22)

3. Do not fear, for I am with you
1) God said, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isa. 41:10)
2) Write down the word of God and put it on the place where you can see it and always look at it. (Ps. 91:14~16)

Conclusion
Anxiety and worry make our hearts like wastelands and shake our faith. The best way to get rid of anxiety and worry is to pray. Philippians 4:6~7 state, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." When we move forward with prayer and thanksgiving, we can be more than conquerors when it comes to anxiety and worry.
