Laws of Seeing
Genesis 15:3 ~ 15:7

Laws of seeing are very important as we live our lives. This is because results of our life differ depending on what we look at. The Bible records many stories of people who lived successful lives through laws of seeing. Through laws of seeing, Abraham became a forefather of faith, and Jacob received blessings in life. The Israelites who were passing through the desert gained healing and health through laws of seeing.

1. Laws of seeing
1) Since Abraham was 75, he asked for a son who God promised, but he did not receive him. So he tried to make one of his servants named Eliezer as his heir.
2) God took Abraham outside at night and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars—if indeed you can count them. So shall your offspring be." Since then, Abraham prayed by looking at the stars in the sky and carrying dreams. Finally, he had a son. (Gen. 15:4~5)

2. Laws of seeing and eternal life
1) The Israelites who were going to the land of Canaan spoke against God and against Moses when they faced rough roads. So God sent venomous snakes and many Israelites died. Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole, following God's command. When people who were bitten by venomous snakes looked at the bronze snake, they all survived. (Num. 21:4~6)
2) Jesus said, "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life." (John 3:14~15)

3. Laws of seeing and blessings of life

1) Jacob was told to receive spotted livestock as his wages. So when sheep and goats were mating, he put spotted branches in front of them. As a result, the livestock bore young that were spotted, and Jacob was able to possess many livestock. (Gen. 30:37~39)
2) We can receive various blessings that are granted by God through laws of seeing.

Conclusion
God who said to Abraham to look up at the heavens and count the stars is telling us to lift up our heads and look to Jesus on the cross of Calvary. By dying on the cross, Jesus took away problems of sins, diseases, poverty, curses, and death. He has become our star of hope. Therefore, just as Abraham had a dream in his heart by looking at the stars in the sky, we must live with dreams by looking at Jesus on the cross.
