The Power of Words
Ezekiel 37:1 ~ 37:10

The greatest characteristic of man created in God's image is the ability to speak. Man conversed with God right when he was created. The ability to speak shows that human beings are the greatest existence among all creation. By speaking words in the wrong way, man rebelled against God and was tempted by the devil. Spoken words are very important, and you are saved because it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

1. God who is the Word
1) The Bible says God is the Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1)
2) All things were created through the Word. (John 1:3)

2. The tower of Babel and confusion of the language
1) Human-centrism and rebellion against God ¨C People said they would build a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that they may make a name for themselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth. (Genesis 11:1, 4)
2) God's judgment and the language
¢Ù God confused the language of the whole world. In turn, people stopped the construction and were scattered because they could not understand each other. When our language becomes confused, our actions are disturbed, and it is difficult to bring unity because people speak differently. (Genesis 11:6~9)
¢Ú Words carry thoughts. Thinking helps you to dream and dreams clothe faith. Faith brings mouth confession and creative proclamations make things come to pass.

3. A word to bring about a change and creation
1) A spoken word is the source that brings about a change and creation. Spoken words have amazing power, and words that we speak every day bring about changes and creation in life. (Proverbs 15:4)
2) "If you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth." (Proverbs 6:2)

4. A word to bring about healing and peace
Through our spoken words, we receive healing of our bodies and hearts, and we can live a healthy life. In addition, we can enjoy peace and blessings in life through our spoken words. Therefore, we must fill our hearts to the brim with the word of God and proclaim words of faith out loud. (Numbers 14:28)


Spoken words have marvelous power. The ebb and flow of life hinge on our spoken words. Therefore, we must always speak active and creative words and words that give life.
