Introduction : Every one of us wants to be loved and wanted by others. We also want to be blessed by God and served by our neighbors. How can we be like that? Jesus told us the law of receiving hospitality, and the wisdom is as follows (Mt 7:12).
1. The reason that Abraham has been blessed (A). Abraham did his utmost to entertain God and neighbors. 1) Abraham received the blessing after he gave a tenth of everything to Melchizedek king of Salem who was priest of the God Most High (Ge 14:18-20; Mal 3:8-10). 2) When the priest, the servant of God blessed, God answered him (Ge 15:1; 15:4-6; Nu 6:23-27).
2. The reason that Abraham has been blessed (B). 1) Abraham served God and His angels unconsciously (Ge 18:1-5; Heb 13:1,2). Abraham served them as travelers, and he didn´t know they were the party of God 2) Hospitality with sincerity (Ge 18:6-8). (1) Fine flour. (2) A tender calf. (3) Curds and milk. 3) The blessing of God (Ge 18:9,10; Ge 18:13,14; Ro 12:13).
3. The reason that Abraham has been blessed (C). 1) Take your son, your only son Isaac whom you love, and sacrifice him as a burnt offering (Ge 22:1,2). 2) God asks for the best one (Dt 6:4,5). 3) The absolute obedience of Abraham (Ge 22:3; Heb 11:17; 1 Sa 15:22,23). 4) The blessing of God (Ge 22:15-18; Gal 3:8; Jas 2:21,22).
Conclusion : What is the hope of Korea? Koreans cannot unite together because they are individualistic, selfish, and negative. Even so, we have some good points to receive blessing. No other people serve guests with such an abundance of food than Koreans do. Koreans also like giving presents to others, and sometimes it changes to a bribe. Christians in Korea give tithes and offerings with great zeal, and we are sending out the second largest number of missionaries after the United States. That is why God is blessing Korea even though we have many defects.
