Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
God Is on My Side
Isaiah 41:10

2018-01-21

Wouldn't it be encouraging if someone is on your side while you live your life? A psalmist confessed, "The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" (Ps. 118:6) It is encouraging if someone is on your side. So how thankful and happy it is when God is on your side. Because God is on our side, we must be on God's side too. We can be on God's side through thoughts, dreams, faith, and spoken words.

1. The thoughts used by the Holy Spirit
1) Do not be discouraged when facing a crisis. If you change your thoughts, you can see a path. (Phil. 4:13)
2) You must put down your thoughts and have thoughts that are used by the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 8:27)

2. The dreams used by the Holy Spirit
1) In order to receive help from God, we must live our lives by having dreams. (Ps. 62:5)
2) If we obey dreams given by the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit uses those dreams. (Phil. 2:13)

3. The faith used by the Holy Spirit
1) In order for our dreams to come to pass, we must have faith that is used by the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 17:20)
2) If we obey the word given by the Holy Spirit, that becomes faith that is used by the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 10:17)

Conclusion
A psalmist said, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." (Ps. 46:1~3) If God the Trinity is on our side, we do not need to fear. God said, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isa. 41:10) If we embrace dreams and hopes by inviting the Holy Spirit in our hearts, we will gain victory in spiritual warfare, overcome fear, worry, and anxiety, and welcome a hopeful future.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
