The War in the Canaan
1 Samuel 17:32 ~ 17:37

2017-11-05

If we look into the war between the Philistines and the Israelites, the army of the Philistines believed in their military power and had high morale that they showed arrogance in which they thought they already gained victory. On the other hand, the army of the Israelites was filled with fear by looking at Goliath, who was a commander of the Philistines, and was busy looking for a place to hide. At that time, David moved forward to fight with Goliath as the representative of Israel. David wasn't someone who can fight with Goliath. David boldly moved forward by believing that God is with him and gained victory. This shows that an invisible war of hearts is the requirement that determines victory or defeat.

1. The battle of dream
1) David had a dream when he moved forward to fight with Goliath. He had a dream of "The whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves," and fought with Goliath. (1 Sam. 17:46~47)
2) God looked at David's dream and gave him victory by being with him. (Ps. 37:4)

2. The victory of faith
1) David defeated Goliath by moving forward with faith that God is with him. So the atmosphere of victory was filled in the entire army of Israel. (1 Sam. 17:51~54)
2) The experience of accomplishing dreams by moving forward with faith in the past becomes the treasure of current life. Because David experienced an event where God delivered him from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear, he did not step back even when he saw Goliath and was able to boldly move forward. (1 Sam. 17:37)

3. Believe God like this
1) In the Bible, there are many records of people who gained victory when they moved forward by believing that God is with them. We need to read these stories, come to a realization, and make them as our own. (Col. 2:13~15)
2) Answers of faith that we experienced during our life of faith bring bigger faith. (1 John 5:4)
3) If we look to how we will gain victory by the power of God, God accomplishes things. (Mark 11:23)

Conclusion
An invisible world moves a visible world. Even though dreams and faith are invisible, if we boldly move forward by having dreams and faith, God changes our life. Therefore, even when our life is difficult, we should not be discouraged. We need to look to and rely on God.

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.
