Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
Holistic Salvation
3 John 1:2

2017-09-24

(3 John 1:2, Acts 10:38)

Salvation through the cross of Jesus is complete salvation that applies in all areas of our life. Just like the word that says, "Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well," (3 John 1:2) God completely saved our spirits, souls, and bodies because He loves us. While we live with the Lord, we need to always read, listen to, and meditate on the word. Also, we need to enjoy the grace of complete salvation by controlling the authority of sins, diseases, poverty, and Hades.

1. As your soul is getting along well
1) Human beings are spiritual beings. God breathed the breath of life into them. Their relationship with God was severed because of sins. So, they are living in the midst of anxiety, fear, and despair. (Gen. 2:7)
2) In order for your soul to get along well, your relationship with God that was broken due to sin must be restored. To this end, there needs to be the precious blood of Jesus and the works of the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 1:7)

2. All may go well with you
1) In order for all things to go well, we must be free from fundamental curses. (Gal. 3:13)
2) In order for all things to go well, we should not fall for the temptation of greed. (Gal. 5:24)
3) In order for all things to go well, we must first ask for God's kingdom and righteousness. (Matt. 6:33)
4) In order for all things to go well, we must follow the law of sowing and reaping. (Gal. 6:7)
5) In order for all things to go well, we must guard our thoughts and spoken words. (Prov. 18:20)

3. I pray that you may enjoy good health
1) Jesus healed sick people and those who are oppressed by the devil during His earthly ministry. (Acts 10:38)
2) We must stand against the devil that is behind diseases in the name of Jesus. (Matt. 8:16)
3) The devil tries to destroy our lives by planting negative thoughts and diseases. We need to protect our bodies and hearts by relying on the cross of the Lord. (Prov. 16:32)

Conclusion
God accomplished our holistic salvation through Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection. He wants His loving children to live "a life where they may enjoy good health and that all may go well with them, even as their souls are getting along well." Therefore, we should not be discouraged or fall in despair no matter what kind of circumstances we face. We must dream about and speak of a happy life where our bodies and hearts are healthy by always relying on the cross of the Lord.
