People Who Are Weary and Burdened
Matthew 11:25 ~ 11:30

2017-07-09

People living in this world are all carrying laborious and heavy burdens. People with money and power live a difficult and tiring life because of money and power. A life needs a wall where we can rely on. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Jesus becomes a wall where tiring people can rely on. True rest can be enjoyed only in Jesus.

1. A question, we should ask ourselves
1) Who is the master of all things that exist in this world? Also, who is our master? If we know that God is our master in life, we can enjoy peace. (1 Chron. 29:11)
2) We are worthless and weak like jars of clay. However, we do not need to be discouraged or fall in despair because we have Jesus who is treasure in us. If we commit all problems to Jesus, we can live a peaceful life with faith. (2 Cor. 4:7~10)

2. We have this treasure in jars of clay
1) As we live our lives, there are times when we face enemies on every side. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed because we have Jesus with us. (Luke 10:19)
2) We are perplexed, but not in despair. This is because Jesus who is in us will not allow evil spirits to conquer us. (Ps. 44:7)
3) We are persecuted, but not abandoned. God takes care of and protects us until the end because of Jesus who is in us. (Rom. 8:38~39)
4) We are struck down, but not destroyed. Even if situations like death come, we will not be destroyed as long as Jesus is with us. (Ps. 27:1)

Conclusion
Even though jars of clay can easily be broken, they are safe as long as they hold treasure. Because they hold treasure, people take good care of and protect them. Likewise, if we who are weak like jars of clay have treasure Jesus in us, we are safe no matter what kind of situations we face. This is because God protects and keeps us who are His loving children as the apple of His eye.

For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.
